My initial impressions are that this is an excellent sprayer. I am always looking at design. Someone has put a lot of thought into this sprayer. The pump handle can be mounted on either side of the body depending on whether you are left handed or right handed. Assembly time was 5 minutes max. Mounting the appropriate spray nozzle, and the one bolt through the spray handle Shaft. There were a number of little touches that I like. Like the shaft mounting nut having a nylon insert so it wouldn't back off and lose your Bolt. Like the strainer in the tank to keep debris out. It is porous enough to quickly run a hose into it without flooding over, and yet fine enough to keep out grass and debris. The chest harness was well-designed. I especially like the cross strap between the shoulder straps. That takes a lot of wear and tear off of your shoulders. Completely full, it is difficult to put on. I learned that by filling it on a raised surface and just backing up to it made a lot more sense than trying to lift it up and swing it around my back. Then wand also sprays a clean fan right off the bat. I sprayed about 2 gallons of clean water through it just to test it out, and it dispense them quickly and efficiently. The hand pump is easy to use, and gives good feedback on when your tank is up to pressure. I don't know about longevity, but right out of the box this is a great sprayer. It was by no means the cheapest sprayer, but it wasn't the most expensive either. I bought it because of generally good reviews. I think I have made a good choice. There was actually some of the manual that was useful. Usually they waste 20 pages in telling you that the product that you just purchased can maim or kill you just to make the lawyers happy.. This is a well-written manual in real English. With useful information like nozzle selection.

i love this thing. i use it all the time. much better than the the ones you have to carry around. have not had one issue since i got it. im sure i will need to lube o-rings pretty soon. as i got this a year ago. and i have probably used it atleast 30 times. but they even give you a video on how to do that. my only complaint, has nothing to do with the sprayer, but the fact that i have to KEEP pumping this thing!! on a normal yard thats no big deal at all. but on an acre+ yard this thing is a workout. should of gotten a battery backpack. i spray herbicides, pesticides and fungicides.i think my right arm is going to look like Popeye soon!!

Fits comfortably on back and has a low pressure nozzle ( which is good for spraying herbicides ). Added benefit is that the nozzles are metal and not plastic so they will last much longer than the plastic ones.

Everything about this pump sprayer is EXCELLENT. It is comfortable, easy to use, good looking, doesn't leak, easy to fill, easy to see how many gallons you have in (because gallons are marked on the side of the translucent container) and the unit sprays well. Seven or eight quick pumps and it's at full power. Then a single pump every... maybe 10 seconds, keeps the pressure topped up. You can set it to continuously spray if you want. One point is that the handle does not fold upward as is currently shown in the photo. I originally left a negative review about this because the footprint is much larger with the handle sticking out and I needed this pump sprayer to fit into the bed of my pickup with other equipment. We own a yard cleaning company so we're constantly going from house to house. Field King — this is a GREAT company — responded to my review and told me I could order a different handle. Well, I was going to pay for it, but they sent me the $15 part at no charge! If you want a sprayer with a folding handle (will fold up out of the way so the spray has a smaller footprint when stored) get the "Field King Max 190348 Backpack Sprayer for Professionals Applying Herbicides." Also, they have this one: Roundup 190327 No Leak Pump Backpack Sprayer. I didn't want it because it has a Round Up sticker on it. Except for the handle issue, I think it would be hard to improve upon this sprayer. It's that good.

I really like how this backpack sprayer is built. It’s strong and rigid, has very easy final assembly with just attaching and bolting on the pump arm, along with attaching the final segment of the spraying wand and the choice of spray head. The tank does hold 4 gallons and it does have a built in screen so debris and what not doesn’t get into the container, you can easily remove it though. I do also like the larger opening so you can fill it easily. The backpack portion of it has padded straps and a connecting two part quick connecting harness, so it does fit well and comfortable to the chest and back. The tank pressurizes very quickly and it’s simple and effective to keep it pumped up while using it continuously. I really did like the 25 psi pressure regulator accessory, that works fantastic when spraying out, for example, weed and grass killer‘s on the lawn. Surprisingly it does come with virtually every spray nozzle of choice you may need, so you can use this sprayer for anything to get the job done without having to buy any additional components or accessories. The only part I wish they would designed differently is I wish the pump arm woukd have some kind of push down button or lever where you could then rotate the pump arm about 90° so it could the sit straight up and not stick out, because it does make it hard to store the pump sprayer in a compact manner. So overall, for the price and what you get, it’s a great value, and I would certainly recommend it to others for sure!

We ordered this to replace a Stihl model that leaked after the second round of spraying and always required some kind of fiddling around to make it work correctly.. The parts that leaked in my Stihl are built inside the tank on this model of Field King and I won't be worrying now. So far this sprayer has met my expectations. I am 6'2" and very happy that the shoulder harness and belts fit me just fine. That was another issue with Stihl.... the shoulder harness is made for someone 5"8". So it always felt awkward. I will update this later if I have even one problem with this Field King Sprayer. But you know what....... It feels strong, well built, well designed, and sturdy. So I'm figuring you won't hear from me again!

Some thoughtful, clever design work went into the Field King Pro backpack sprayer. It’s like someone took a look at what’s wrong with other sprayers and engineered a solution. When I removed the handle from the shipping container, I was surprised by how substantial it felt. Next I noticed the convenient, sturdy, built-in lifting handle. That’s a practical touch that’ll make transporting the sprayer in the field much easier. Unlike other brands I’ve owned, the backpack came fully assembled and ready to use. There’s a wand holder built into the frame. What a clever feature! Anyone who has used a backpack sprayer will appreciate having a dedicated place to transport and store the wand. I was pleasantly surprised by the built-in mixing paddles that agitate tank liquid with every pump of the handle. I knew it came with a foam nozzle, but I didn’t realize how special that was until I used it. Along with the included low pressure bypass valve, it was easy to foam individual weeds and spare desirable vegetation. Overall, construction is remarkably solid. I’m delighted with this purchase and recommend it highly. Nope, I have zero connection to the manufacturer, seller or Amazon. I simply appreciate quality merchandise and feel an obligation to repay other reviewers who have so helpfully guided my purchases.

I've been using the popular one gallon sprayer sold on Amazon and other places for years. I got used to shaking it while spraying and setting it on the ground and pumping like 20 times every couple of minutes. It's a good sprayer. After using this field king sprayer, my opinion of the one gallon sprayer has completely changed. With the field king, you can get 3 gallons in it, which is 3 times that of the old sprayer. Also, NO STOPPING to pump or shake. There is a bar that you can pump with one hand while continuing to spray with the other. This thing is great. The neighbors may think you look odd for wearing a giant plastic backpack looking thing, but this has saved me HOURS from if I had continued using the hand pumping one gallons sprayer. This is well worth the money.

This sprayer seems to be very well designed and built. It feels very sturdy. It is definitely heavier than the handheld sprayer I previously used but with the straps properly adjusted it doesn't really matter. I initially had the shoulder straps too tight and it was uncomfortable but I loosened them up a bit and tightened up the waist strap. This greatly improved the comfort. I have only put about 2 gallons maximum into it so I don't know how it would feel with four gallons on my back. It comes with different tips to change the spray pattern. So far I have only used the adjustable metal tip. One thing I noticed about it's design is that the hole the spray comes out of is slightly recessed inside a larger hole at the end of the tip. This is a good design as I have bumped the end of the tip on the ground/pavement spraying weeds. With the hole slightly recessed like it is, it shouldn't get damaged. Time will tell, but so far I believe this is a very good backpack sprayer.

Some suggestions. 1. Save the box because it shows all the features like which nozzle to use for various jobs. The manual is next to worthless. 2. A feature not mentioned is when pumped up you can spray trees up to about 20 feet into the air. 3. easy to assembly( only one bolt to attach handle to unit), fill, lever to keep pressure up, comfortable to wear on back.
